Eric Galm, Ph.D., is Professor of Music, Chair of the Department of Music, and Faculty Secretary, the institution’s highest elected faculty position. Charged with facilitating communication among faculty, between the faculty and the administration, and separately, the Board of Trustees, Galm has facilitated enhanced communication throughout the institution, and is spearheading significant efforts to resolve issues that were once perceived as insurmountable obstacles. Galm has also served as the Co-Director for the Trinity College Center for Caribbean Studies, a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellow, and as a longtime member of the Arts Initiative.

He has significant committee service throughout 20 years at the College, including representation on the Financial Affairs, Faculty Research, Educational Policy, Library and Information Technology, Assessment Advisory, Faculty Conference, and College Affairs committees.

He has served on the national selection committee for the Fulbright program and as a grants panelist for the Connecticut Office for the Arts, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the Greater Hartford Arts Council, among others. He has served as President of the Northeast Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology and as a board member for the Ballet Theatre Company, and as a member of the Community Impact Board and Chair of the Artists Advisory Board at the Greater Hartford Arts Council.
